Places to Visit in Nadiad
Also referred as Nandgam, Nadiad is the administrative center of Kheda located at a distance of 18 km away from the city. It is the largest town in the district and one of the major trade centers of Gujarat. Nadiad is known for its temples namely Santaram Mandir and Shri Mai Mandir, which are famous for its carvings and the centuries old Methodist Church and Methodist Mission Hospital, are some of the places of interest in this city. There are many hospitals and educational institutions like Dharmsinh Desai Institute of Technology and the Ayurvedic College that are well-known throughout the region. The nearby small town of Lasundra on the banks of river Luni is famous for its hot and cold springs which are said to have medicinal properties for curing skin diseases. Shri Mai Mandir
Located in Nadiad, Shri Maidharma Adhyapith Sthan is also popular is Shri Keshav Bhavani Temple. This temple is the original place and pioneer of Shri Maidharma. Inspired by Shri Maidharma Pithadhiswar H.H.1008 Shri Bhagavati Keshav Maharaj, the current Pithadhiswar had started moving all around the world for the religious propaganda with Shri KeshavBhavani Maa.
Dharmsinh Desai University
For imparting the best of education, Nadiad has some of the major educational institutes out of which Dharmsinh Desai University formerly known as Dharmsinh Desai Institute of Technology is well known in the region of Gujarat. Founded in the year 1968, the institution got the independent status of higher learning in the field of Engineering and Technology.
Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in village Vadtal nearby Nadiad is one of the most famous temples in the region. Built in the year 1824, the temple is the headquarters of Shri Laxminarayan Dev Gadi and often known as Vadtal Swaminarayan. The lotus shape temple has realistic architecture brilliance and nine domes in the inner side. The pillars of the temple are made of wood and carved in such a beautiful way that beholds every sight. Shri Swami Narayan temple is divided into three shrines with each shrine dedicated to the particular deities.
