The palace is Kapurthala’s most famous and imposing building that once served as the home of Maharaja Jagatjit Singh, the chief architect of present day Kapurthala. Gurdwara Chhevin Padshahi

Gurudwara Chhevin Padshahi is situated on the spot where Guru Hargobind sat in discussion with a Muslim holy saint, Shaikh Darvesh. The guru discussed various spiritual matters with Shaikh Darvesh, which created a positive impact on the holy man. This gurudwara contains a handwritten copy of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, which was prepared around 1715 and 1728 by martyr Baba Deep Singh, the great Sikh scholar.
