Mid-Day meal scheme for Madarsas

Narendra Modi Led BJP government would soon initiate a scheme for Madarsas across the country. For people who are unaware of what Madarsas are; Madarsas are small institutions which provide mainstream education such as science, math etc. to Muslim children. The scheme would benefit these institutions.

About the Initiative:

The scheme is about starting a Mid-Day meal for Madarsas. The government has decided to launch the scheme once all the aspects of the scheme are finalized. The decision of launching the Mid-Day meal scheme for Madarsas was taken during the meeting of the general body of Maulana Azad Education Foundation (MEAF) held on December 29, 2016.

Maulana Azad Education Foundation general body may also consider grant-in-aid scheme for Madrasas. The announcement of the scheme was made by Naqvi while Inaugurating the Annual Conference of State Minorities Commission in New Delhi on 17th January.

The Union Minister for Minority Affairs (Independent Charge) Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi says that the ministry has been discussing various concerns with representatives from several Madarsas of the country and pulling together their suggestions before the final launch of the scheme.

The government is already making efforts for the upliftment of the minorities in the country. In addition to this, the government has also launched several welfare schemes to socially, economically and educationally to strengthen the minorities of the country.

“Madarsas are an integral part of India, it is wrong to say they are not part of India”, said Naqvi. This step taken towards the benefits of the not much-considered classes of India is a huge measure to bring India together and to impart education and health for the underprivileged ones. By this, the Narendra Modi Led BJP government has proved its adeptness for the country’s minorities.

Measures like these must be taken time to time to enhance the country’s development.
