Jharkhand Government to Provide Gas Connections for free under PM Awas Yojana-Gramin
What is PM Gramin Awas Yojana?
Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana (PMAY-G) is a revamped and improved version of Indira Awas Yojana rural housing scheme. Under the PM Garmin Awas Yojana, the central government aims to develop 4 Crore homes for the rural section across the country by the year 2022.
Under the rural housing scheme, the central government will provide a financial help of Rs. 120000/- for constructing the home. An additional help of Rs. 12000 will also be provided to construct toilets in households.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana, the eligible beneficiary can also avail a loan of up to Rs. 70,000/- but it is optional.
The central government has set a target of building 44 Lac homes under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin by the end of December 2017. According to the statistics by Ministry of Rural Development, about 22 Lac houses have been constructed in rural areas under PMAY-G till 28th January. The ministry will complete the construction of 1 Crore 33 Lac houses in three years from 2016-17 to 2018-19 which also includes 33 Lac homes under previous Indira Awas Yojana.
Jharkhand Government to Provide Gas Connections for free under PM Awas Yojana-Garmin:
The Central Government of India has decided to provide free gas connections along with housing under PM Awas Yojana Gramin. The Jharkhand Government has decided to execute this scheme firstly in Jamshedpur. The Jharkhand Government will provide free LPG gas connections to the appropriate receivers of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin.
Under this scheme, the state government will provide free gas connections along with affordable housing to 9,142 selected receivers of the scheme. The government will also provide free stove along with the gas connection and housing under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
