How To Apply For Aadhaar Card?

In case you have not applied for your Aadhaar Card yet it’s high time you apply for it now. Aadhaar card by the Unique Identification Authority of India i.e. UIDAI is now a necessity for all the individuals of the country because of its various benefits like a direct transfer of the LPG subsidy in your bank account, allow you to get a passport in 10 days, getting provident fund money and much more.

The government of India has been providing various facilities for its citizens to make the registration process easier and hassle free. The people wanting to apply for the Aadhaar card will have to go to the authorized Aadhaar center to get them registered. However, one can book their appointment prior to reaching the authorized center for not having to wait in long tiresome rows. One can book the appointment by going to the official website of Unique Identification Authority of India which is https://appointments.uidai.gov.in/.

Fill in the information asked and fix the appointment. UIDAI also provide the facilities to cancel or reschedule the appointment. However for availing the appointment facility one should have internet facility on their computers or mobile phone or you can always go to the cyber cafes. But this online facility of “Take Appointment for Aadhaar Enrollment” is available only in selected Aadhaar Enrollment centers in India.

The other offline process of applying for Aadhaar card is also an easy way process, though. Follow the procedure below to apply for Aadhaar card:

  1. Reach your nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Centre/Registration Centre.
  2. Fill in the application form. Be very careful while filling in the details. Note that the phone number filled here will be used further also if you need to do any kind of correction.
  3. Take the necessary documents of identity proof and residential proof with you. The list of documents for both identity and residential proof which you can take with you are available on the official website of UIDAI also. These documents will be required to show the officials there.

  1. The operator will take your photo with a computer connected camera and bio metric details. The fingerprints and iris scan will also be taken through computer connected devices.
  2. After all the processes are complete, you will be given a receipt which is called the Enrollment Slip. It will have all the necessary information like name, address, current date, time etc printed on it.
  3. Using these details of the Enrollment slip you can download your Aadhaar Card at home through the internet or check its status online. And after some time the Aadhaar Card will even reach your home by post.
