For farmers of the state, Haryana Agriculture Department inaugurated the Soil Health Cards. This Soil Health Card will provide necessary information to farmers about their crops. By spreading the knowledge of ideal and healthy fertilisers and pesticides for the crops, this scheme will also help enhance the general health. Under this project, the government will educate the farmer about their cropland; they will elaborate the farmers about the various options that are in growing on their land.

  • Bilaspur
  • Ladwa
  • Indri
  • Kaithal
  • Jind
  • Ganaur
  • Lakhan majra
  • Bahadurgarh
  • Adampur
  • Hathin
  • Taru
  • Khol
  • Kanina
  • Bhavanikhera
  • Panchkula
  • Panipat
  • Gurgaon
  • Balmagad

According to Paramvir Singh in a recent interview, the agriculture minister, “the state has 15.28 Lakh farmer families that are going to get the soil health card.”
The department has dispatched around 13.65 Lakh cards. The remaining 1.63 Lakh cards are supposed to be released in the next two months. After the detailed examination of the nutrient content of the soil in all the districts and by satisfying all the factors, the “Soil Health Card” will be issued. The quality of the sub-soil water has also been tested before issuing the cards.


The scientists in the agriculture department collected soil from the different regions along with sub-soil water. Then, they checked the quantitative and qualitative content of the ground. After testing the mineral content and formulated data, scientists have based their research and formed data concerning each soil property and the amount and quality prescription of manure and fertilisers that are needed to obtain a good yield. The information given by scientists can be collected by farmers in Haryana through the Soil Health Card. In this way, farmers can know and utilise the proper amount and quality of manure to grow the most suitable crop on their particular lands.
The government has already issued 13.65 Lakh soil health cards to the various farmer families in the districts of Haryana, and the remaining ones will be reaching the farmer’s doorsteps by October 2016. The cards have been issued to a total of 19 blocks in the state. In addition to the cards, the department has undertaken an initiative to treat saline and alkaline land which is estimated about 49,000 hectares and 1.85 Lakh hectares in the state respectively.
